Aliyah's adoption is now finalized! We received the stamped and sealed "Decree of Adoption" from the State of North Carolina Clerk of Superior Court today. We are thrilled! Here's one of my favorite parts of the document:
Now Therefore, it is hereby ordered, adjudged, and decreed by the Court that from the date of the entry of this Decree herein, the said minor is declared adopted for life by the petitioners and that said child shall henceforth be known by the name of Aliyah Rose E..... and the State Registrar of Vital Records shall make a new birth certificate for said child.
We are so thankful that she is a permanent member of our family. The love and joy that she has added to our household is a blessing beyond description. What a beautiful gift she is to our family. Thank you, God, for her life!
